Call On The Five, Keep Hope Alive

Would you look at that! Today marks five years that this site has existed!

Whoa, that’s a lot.

On this day back in 2013, I registered this site with the intention of telling some funny stories based on the things that I saw and did in the world of ballroom dancing. That intention didn’t last very long, and since then this site has morphed into the place where I collect all of my dance notes about the figures and techniques I need to remember as I continue learning. Hopefully some of the things that I write down are still funny though, and that’s what keeps all of you random people out in the wilds of the Internet coming back for more.

At this point, I think I can safely say that I’m not planning on giving up this site anytime soon. So looking ahead to the next year… who knows what sorts of things the next year will bring! All sorts of expectations that I had about last year were completely shattered somewhere along the way, so I’m not even going to try to predict what could possibly happen.

On one funny (and kind of sad) note: my little Lego figure, the one I use to represent myself, has certainly gotten worn down through the last five years. His feet don’t stick to the pegs very well anymore, and his arms are starting to wiggle a bit more loosely than I would like. Sometimes I have to retake pictures more than I would like because he falls over, or his arms start drooping. Maybe I’m going to have to retire him soon and track down another one of these minifigures that hasn’t been used so much to replace him with…
But, until that happens, we’ll both do our best to stay strong through the next year, so stick around! There are lots more adventures to come.

  1. Congratulations on keeping this going for five year. So much of our Ballroom Village is dark now so it is nice to see one house with the porch light burning. Too bad about the little lego guy- hope you can keep him together.
